Roese has been painting since the late 1990’s. Her styles have ranged from fine dot depictions of the Bush Turkey story, to bold impressions of women's ceremonial body paint designs and, currently, circular motifs that depict soakages in the style of her sister, the late Lena Pwerle. Lena was known for painting Kwaty Ngenty (soakages) found on their homelands.
Roese initially worked in the medium of batik during the late 1980's along with over eighty other women from the Utopia region in Central Australia. Her work in this medium toured Australia and is featured in the publication “Utopia – A Picture Story, the Robert Holmes á Court Collection”.
